Verdure Policies and Spa Etiquette

Appointment Scheduling, Cancellation & Reschedule Policy

  • Appointments and inquiries can be made via phone (717) 235-8434, via email at verduredayspa@yahoo.com, or in person.

  • Guests are encouraged to schedule services in advance. We are an appointment based spa & while we would do our best to accommodate walk-in clients, we cannot guarantee availability for services.

  • In order to ensure that you obtain your desired appointments, we recommend scheduling your appointment as far in advance as possible.

  • We have reserved time and space especially for you and require 24 hour notice of any appointment cancellation. This gives us ample time to schedule another client. Please provide 72 hours’ notice for group cancellations. If less than the required notice is given, Verdure reserves the right to charge 50% of the full scheduled session.

  • If for any reason Verdure needs to cancel or reschedule an appointment, as much advance notice as possible will be given.

  • Clients who miss their appointments without giving any prior notification will be charged in full for the scheduled service. We recognize the time of our clients and therapists is valuable and have implemented this policy for this reason.

  • Many times our therapist will be functioning in an “on call” status and have travelled to the spa specifically for your service. For this reason we are obligated to compensate our therapist for their time as well as make up for the lost revenue. This policy allows us to retain great therapists.

No Shows

  • Clients who fail to show for appointments may be asked to pre-pay for future services. After 3 instances of a “no-show”, clients will be asked to reserve their future appointment with a credit card.

  • No shows (defined as not showing up, or cancelling after the appointment time has already started) will result in a no-show/cancellation fee of 50% of the session cost the first time a no show occurs. Future appointments will require a 50% non-refundable deposit that will be used toward your session. In the event of a cancellation in less than 24 hours or another no show, the deposit will be forfeited.

Special Conditions

  • Please notify our staff at the time of scheduling if you have any special conditions or requests that may affect your service(s).

  • Please notify our staff of any allergies or sensitivities when you schedule your appointment.

  • Please notify our staff at time of scheduling of any health conditions, injuries, recent surgeries, pregnancy or special needs which may affect your services.

Arrival Times

  • Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your first scheduled appointment as we will have paperwork (client, health and skin care profiles, etc.) for you to complete and your therapist to review before the service can begin.

  • We understand that sometimes being late is unavoidable. However, depending on circumstances, we may be forced to shorten or reschedule your service. Clients who arrive late will be charged in full for their scheduled session, but may receive an abbreviated session.

  • (Returning customers) Please plan to arrive 5 minutes prior to your reservation to allow time for checking in, using the restroom, updating forms and getting settled.

Spa Etiquette

  • Please respect the right to a quiet atmosphere for all guests. We ask that you refrain from talking loudly and that you turn all cell phones to vibrate/silent. Please inform your therapist should you need to make a phone call so that you may do so without disturbing other spa guests. Cell phone use may affect the length of your spa services.

  • Of course beyond the check in policies we invite all our guest receiving services to make full use of our relaxing environment here at Verdure. Come early, stay late, bring a book, relax and enjoy a cup of complimentary tea or coffee available in our log room. Couples and spa parties are more than welcome to bring wine or champagne to enjoy.

  • To ensure a relaxing environment, spa guests must be at least 13 years of age. Anyone aged between 13 and 17 must have written consent from a parent or guardian or have a guardian present during massage service.

  • Children are not allowed to be unsupervised in the spa at any time!

  • Remember to rest, cool down and drink water before and after a massage or fitness session.


  • For massages, your spa specialist wants nothing more than for you to be relaxed, so please undress to the point where you're comfortable. The technician will always give you privacy and time to get ready. There will be a sheet for you to slip under on the massage table.

  • It is never required that you are unclothed in front of anyone at our day spa. Towels and robes are provided to keep you covered.

  • Our therapists are well trained in the “art of draping” which means that they leave the treatment room while you get under the sheet on the massage table, and they keep you covered at all times except for the area of the body they are working on. They also leave the treatment room before you get up from the table.

  • If you are having a treatment for the first time, feel free to ask the receptionist or therapist how you should be dressed for treatment. We want to make sure that you are comfortable, so please let us know if you have questions.

Respect for Client Needs and Boundaries

  • Our therapists are happy to adjust pressure, temperature, musical volume, work longer on an area or move on if you request it.

  • The client may choose to: leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort, refuse any massage methods, stop massage at any time and is free to leave; the therapy door is never locked.

  • The client will always be modestly draped. Only the area being massaged will be undraped. The clients will be kept informed of the area to be massaged.

  • Occasionally, an emotional response to massage occurs. If this happens, it is ok to express the feelings in our safe, nonjudgmental environment – or you may request privacy and end the session. You are in control.

Communicating Your Suggestions

  • We welcome your constructive feedback! You can email us at verduredayspa@yahoo.com or speak with us in person.  It is our goal to exceed your expectations.

  • There will be an additional opportunity to review and provide feedback on your service within the payment confirmation email (if you provide an email address).

Professional Boundaries

  • Requests for sexual activity will not be tolerated, will be viewed as solicitation, and reported to the proper authorities under the guidelines of the massage therapy policies and procedures. The client will not be rescheduled if this occurs.

  • The breast and genital area will not be massaged under any circumstances. Permission will be asked before working close to these areas; otherwise, a professional distance will be maintained. Also, low back, hip & gluteal area will be massaged only with permission and can be worked through the draping if requested.

  • Sexual interaction or discussion of any kind between the client and the massage therapist is NEVER appropriate.

  • We do not massage anyone under the age of 18 without parental consent and therapist approval.

Payment & Gift Certificates

  • Verdure Day Spa gift cards make the perfect gift for any occasion. They may be used toward treatments or products, (unless otherwise noted) and must be presented at time of service. Gift certificates are not refundable.

  • We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express as well as cash, check or Verdure gift certificates.

  • We do NOT accept SpaFinder or any other third party gift cards.

Personal Property

  • We suggest that you leave your valuables at home, as we are not responsible for any lost or stolen articles.


  • Our staff takes special care in providing you with individual attention and appreciate your generosity. Gratuities are not included in the cost of the treatment.

  • Customary tipping runs 15% to 20% but is, of course, at your discretion. You may tip the therapist in the room or upon check out at the front desk.

Inclement Weather Policy

  • Verdure Day Spa & Wellness Center’s standard policy is that appointments canceled with less than 24-hours notice incur a cancellation fee. During the winter months, we are willing to make an exception to that rule. If you believe that it would be unsafe or impossible for you to travel to your appointment, you may reschedule within the 24-hour window at no charge.

  • Notices of closing early or special hours will be available on our facebook page and via email.
